How to Start

You will not need to spend a lot of money to make vermicompost, because there is no need for any special construction for this. You can start making vermicompost from a small part of your vacant land or farm.

For protection from animals, surround the marked land with a fence. You will have to buy durable polythene and tricolin from the market.

Then cut the polythene to a width of 1.5 to 2 meters, or according to the available space. The ground inside the circle should be absolutely flat.

After levelling the land, spread the dung by spreading the tripolin. Keep the height of the dung between 1 and 1.5 meters.

Now put earthworms on top of the dung. According to the place, you can make different dung beds and leave earthworms on them. You will have to take care of it for about a month, after which the compost will be ready.

What is the Fertiliser Sales Procedure?

There is a lot of demand for vermicompost among farmers; initially, you can take the help of an e-commerce platform to sell the compost.

Customer purchases can be made through Amazon or Flipkart. You can also sell vermicompost to compost shops selling fertilisers and seeds in markets near you.

You will have no trouble selling fertilisers once you have gained popularity among the general public.

How Much Can Be Earned?

If a vermicomposting business is started with 15 to 20 cowdung beds, it is possible to generate an annual revenue of 8 to 10 lakh rupees in a short period of time.
